Ambrose Designs - Mopeds | ||||||||||||||||||||||

COMING SOON! Our main business is "cutting coins" we have been doing that for decades. I am the owner of this site "the coincutter", Gary V. Ambrose II. I have a been in design all my life. I need a change of pace, so I decided to start making "bicycle mopeds" (In addition to the cut coin business, and in my spare time). Since I used to race motocross, and know alot about small engines.. this will be a fun thing to me. I will buy new bicycles, add a motor and such.,, customize and make some cool Mopeds! Basically.. I plan to make some cool chit. Slowly, but surely. I will be "altering, refining".. all that. Then sell at a "decent" retail price.
The basic plan is this: I will be buying engine kits for "Bicycle mopeds". I will be buying new "bicycles" and add on parts. I may do some drilling welding or whatever. I will be "tweaking the motor".. this is "more fun then anything to me"! I am 100% sure I am doing this! I am 100% sure I can do it cool!! This will take time.. but I expect my "first one done" around January 2008. I have not made a single moped yet. I need to be clear on that. I just want you to know I wouldn't spend all this time, if it wasn't something I could do, and wanted to do. The reason for this page, is so I can get "feedback" create "graphics" for the site (and moped).. and kinda refine things.
Parts needed for making a Bicycle moped
You need to check laws in your state for "Moped usage". We are based in "Michigan" .. here is a list of laws in our state. Your state may have different laws. Moped Definition A two- or three-wheeled vehicle with a motor which has no more than 50cc piston displacement producing two brake horsepower or less. The moped must have a power drive system that does not require shifting gears and cannot have a top speed exceeding 30 mph on level surfaces.
To operate a moped on public roadways and highways, you must have a valid operator or chauffeur license. If you do not have either of these licenses and are above the age of 15, you may apply for a moped at a Secretary of State office.
You must pass a vision, knowledge and traffic sign test to obtain a moped license. You do not have to pass a driver education course or a road skills test. If you are under age 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign your license application. You must give up your moped license if you obtain a regular operator or chauffeur license. The original moped license fee is $7.50. Applicants who are under 20 years, 6 months old receive a moped license valid until their 21st birthday. Any other moped license expires four years from the applicant’s last birthday. The four-year renewal fee is $6.
Mopeds must be registered at a Secretary of State branch office unless operated solely on private property. You must pay a $15 fee for a three-year registration decal and put it on the back of your moped so it is visible to law enforcement officers. It expires April 30 in the year on the decal. Since a moped is not classified as a motor vehicle in Michigan, it is exempt from the insurance laws.
MOPED LAWS BY STATE: http://www.moped2.org/mstates.htm This is a work in progress.. the site will be worked on.. as well as the "mopeds", "graphics" and alot more. Just saying.. it's in the "process" and will happen.. so keep checking back for updates.... WORK IN PROGRESS>>> Everything is subject to be altered... I plan to make all "Super cool"!! :)
